Like the Alexandra, this pub is not a listed building but, according to Real Ale in Derby, it was “formerly connected with the old cattle market, hence the name…It is a bow-fronted riverside pub, with long, basic bar, and small back lounge with stone fireplace and old wooden settles. Pleasant terrace at rear (access also from adjacent car park), overlooks the River Derwent, and is well used on fine days.”
