Like the Sheriff of Tamworth, this pub is a Grade II listed building and the 1992 listing description is as follows: “Two shops. C17 or early C18 with c1840 refronting. Brick, timber-framed rear wing; tile roof with brick cross-axial and end stacks. 3 storeys; 3-window range. C20 shop fronts flank entrance with leaded overlight to 6-panel door. Windows have 3-light leaded casements in laced plaster surrounds with rosettes to angles. Rear has outshut under catslide roof with dormer, and small gabled wing with plastered end and square framing to return. Interior: No 29 has stop-chamfered beams and joists, noted as having chamfered beams to 1st floor.”
